Conceptual $#!+

Others simply happen.

Contextual $#!+ began as an underlay—a surface meant only to catch drips and excess paint from another work. What was expected to disappear instead revealed itself: a silhouette emerging from chaos, a figure formed entirely by accident and context.

Bold blacks collide with electric yellows, oxidized teals, and flashes of ember orange. Negative space suggests the presence of a person standing quietly at the center, though the image resists certainty. The figure exists only because the viewer finds it there.

This work explores one of the central ideas of Name The Painting™:

Meaning changes when context changes.

What was once background becomes subject.
What was once process becomes artifact.
What was once discarded becomes preserved.

Perhaps every life is a little like that.
