Conceptual $#!+

Bold black, turquoise, yellow, orange, and weathered metallic tones collect around a figure that was never intentionally painted.

This piece began as an underlay—a scrap surface used to catch drips, excess colour, and whatever fell away from another work in progress. It wasn’t supposed to become anything.

But somewhere in the runoff, a silhouette appeared.

The figure at the centre exists almost entirely in negative space, shaped less by what was painted than by what the paint happened to leave behind.

That accident became the artwork.

What was once background became subject.
What was once process became artifact.
What might have been discarded became preserved.

Perhaps every life is a little like that.
